About This Service

Support That Meets Young People Where They Are

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions for Parents and Guardians

Does a parent or guardian need to provide consent?

Consent requirements depend on the young person’s age, location and practitioner policy. The practitioner should explain consent, confidentiality and parental involvement before booking.

Will my child be forced to talk or participate?

No. Support should be voluntary, respectful and paced around the young person’s comfort. They remain aware and can communicate or stop at any time.

What happens during a session?

The practitioner may use age-appropriate conversation, imagination, relaxation, hypnosis or coaching-based exercises within their training and scope.

Is this a replacement for child therapy or medical care?

No. It does not replace assessment or treatment from a pediatrician, psychologist, psychiatrist, licensed child therapist or another qualified professional.

What if there is a serious or urgent concern?

If a young person may harm themselves or someone else, is being harmed, or is experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency or child-protection services and an appropriately qualified healthcare professional immediately.
